Refund and replacement policy.

How we handle defects, returns, and the rare time something does not land.

The promise

Every garment is hand-checked before it leaves the studio. We photograph a random 10% of every run as a visual receipt. If something is defective, mis-sized, or printed wrong, we replace it at no charge within 14 days of delivery. No restocking fee, no return shipping fee, no argument.

What counts as a defect

Material flaws (holes, runs, snags), construction errors (misaligned seams, missing reinforcement), printing errors that deviate from the approved proof (color drift beyond Delta-E 2.0, smudging, misregistration), or pieces that ship at the wrong size from what was ordered. Send us photos and the carton number from the packing slip. We will handle the rest.

Custom goods are not traditionally returnable

Because every piece is made to your spec, we cannot accept returns of unworn but undesired custom apparel. The run is yours the moment it is approved. This is industry standard for custom decoration. If you ordered a size and changed your mind, we can sometimes blend a swap into a re-order, but that is case-by-case.

Approved proof governs

If a typo, color, or placement slipped through your sign-off, we are not liable for the error, but we will always offer a discounted re-press to make it right. Take the proofing seriously; spell-check twice.

How to file a claim

Email studio@forgeandthread.test within 14 days of delivery with your order number, photos of the issue, and which carton/unit count is affected. We will respond within one business day with a remedy, typically a replacement run, expedited to ship within ten business days.

Refunds (rare, but possible)

Where a replacement is not feasible, for example, the moment the apparel was meant for has passed, we will issue a refund to the original payment method. Refunds typically settle within 5 to 10 business days depending on your card issuer or bank. Refunds for partial runs are pro-rated by unit.

Samples

Sample fees are non-refundable individually but are credited toward the cost of the final run. If the run does not proceed, the sample fee remains the studio's design cost.
